Computer Aided Design & Manufacture (CAD/CAM)

We create our equipment in computer aided design (CAD) programs. This allows us to maximise compactness to ensure we meet our portability goals as well as our user requirements, statutory requirements and internal specification requirements. The use of CAD allows us to rapidly design, analyse, document and certify our equipment.

The use of computer aided manufacture (CAM) software & hardware allows us to export the drawing files directly to the equipment manufacturing the components. This ensures a high level of quality, repeatability & accuracy and removes an element of human error. This streamlined approach ensures that our product development process is quick and efficient and we can provide the best quality products quickly with minimal cost. 

Analysis & Testing

All new products are thoroughly analysed and tested, both by third parties (notified bodies) and internally to ensure the equipment meets our demanding specification and statutory requirements and exceeds our customers expectations. Our analysis begins when the design process begins (as early as component selection) and never finishes; as long as people have our equipment we will actively test and analyse the products to ensure the design and quality meet our expectations.

We make use of both Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software on our CAD models to check that our designs meet our demanding specification whilst still on the drawing board. This cuts down the amount of iteration in our development process and ensures that we deliver the very best products in a short development window.

We then take the finished product once manufactured and perform multiple tests to ensure that it is fit for purpose as well as having third party testing performed to ensure we meet our statutory requirements. Our test facilities are custom built to suit our needs and our all of measuring equipment is UKAS calibrated to ensure our accuracy and testing is to the highest professional standards.

Elecex Design Requirements

Every product we develop has a detailed and demanding specification, some are product specific and some are core features that we consider as being necessary for all products. Some of the core design requirements that we insist upon are detailed below:

Safety We consider safety in everything we do; our manufacturing processes, the way our equipment is used and could be misused and how safe it will be at the end of its usable life is all considered to ensure the safety of our personnel and our clients personnel 
Environment Our choices of materials, processes and even manufacturing and storage locations are all determined with consideration to the environment. We make a conscious effort to minimise the carbon footprint of our supply chain and transportation and use the most environmentally friendly materials we can for the construction and packaging of our products. 
Portability When designing our products portability is key. We make sure our products can either be carried by one person, two people or are pallet sized so they can be moved via fork lift or pallet truck. Portability of our products ensures the end user can take them to different parts of the facility or even to different facilities with ease. This maximises the equipment use and minimises the hassle and costs assosciated with transporting and positioning the equipment. 
Intuitive Controls We place emphasis on intuitive design when it comes to our user interfaces; position, size and colour's are all important to ensure the user can operate the equipment intuitively whilst minimising the chance of erroneous input or actions.
