Coupler Socket suitable for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2, and certified IECEx and ATEX.

Our Coupler Sockets can be used along side our plugs to safely extend the reach of your hazardous area equipment. Available in 16A and 32A models, these can be used to build your own ATEXIECEx compliant extension leads.

The flexible shutter spring design of the female connectors provides a large contact surface and guarantees a low contact resistance and minimal temperature rise. By using an elastic shutter type spring casing mounted inside the sleeve of the socket the pins are cleaned each time they are inserted, whilst the the force required in inserting and removing the plug is minimised. 

As per IEC 60309 the hazardous area plugs will connect with a hazardous area or industrial socket, but the hazardous area socket will only allow the connection of hazardous area plugs, thus ensuring the safe combination of cross compatibility of hazardous area plugs and sockets and industrial plugs and sockets.
